Job Description

About the role:As a Skilled Plant Team Member within the plant maintenance team, you will play a vital part in keeping our operation running smoothly by servicing, repairing and overhauling our facility equipment and infrastructure. Ensuring delivery of all aspects of Occupational Safety, including the requirements of Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Precautions and other legislation. You will be expected to meet the targets set by the plant team leader to ensure KPIs on PPM are met and reactive faults are dealt with in a timely manner.Key Responsibilities include:*Work to the instructions of the Team Leader, undertake any work as required, subject to competence *Advise the Team Leader of all work arising, and any difficulties encountered*Assist in the development of routine maintenance instructions and schedules*Plan daily routine workload and repairs arising to enable completion of maintenance work within the specified time*Servicing, maintenance, repair and overhaul of plant installations, components, buildings and infrastructure to Northern work standards and specifications as allocated by the Team Leader*Carry out work in connection with new works contracts for small installation/modifications to plant equipment *Fault diagnosis*Always keep place of work and storage facilities clean and tidy*Liaise with the Team Leader to determine the workload priorities, ensure that the work is progressed About you: *Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 (minimum, desirably electrically bias) *Practical ability and understanding of plumbing, building, mechanical and electrical principles, plant, systems and techniques, including schematics (air, hydraulic and electrical)*Demonstration of ability to successfully complete further competency training as required *Able to operate mechanical/electrical appliances*Able to read and understand technical and safety related instructions*Demonstrate ability to work on own initiative*Good communication skills, both written and oral*Good interpersonal skills This is a Safety Critical post.About Northern:We are transforming and we are on the lookout for smart, forward thinking and motivated people to join us on our journey.
