Job Description

The OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for one the regions largest and well known independent Plumbing & Pipeline Merchants, as it looks to recruit an IT Manager, as they plan for the incumbents retirement. Trading for over 150 years, Crossling, which is headquartedin Newcastle, employs 330 staff operating 15 outlets across the Northern England and Southern Scotland.The RoleReporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for all aspects of IT provision, including design, implementation and support of the network and management of all internal systems. Leading a small team, you will:

  • Project manage IT projects, including an upcoming ERP implementation
  • Supervise and develop staff, provide appropriate training, maintain training records and achieve advancement and efficiency.
  • Identify technology improvements that could improve the business, and prepare business cases for review by the Management team as well as project manage their successful implementation.
  • Work with and manage 3rd party suppliers for both existingand new services
The RequirementsAs either an experienced or aspiring IT Manager, you will possess strong project management and business analysis experience, across a broad range, both infrastructure and systems. Having worked within an operational business such as manufacturing or retail,you will be used to working with a wide range of users. Though staff management experience would be preferred, it is not essential so long as you have the desire to line manage people.Desirable skills/experience include:
  • SQL
