Job Description

Summary Were looking for a Senior Programme Manager to lead a team of Project Managers delivering conservation projects across London and the South-East.The National Trust has ambitious climate action plans, including reaching carbon net-zero by 2030. This roleplays a critical part in delivering our strategic ambitions. The projects span a range of topics, initially focusing on land and nature projects, varying from reinterpreting landscapes to give visitors great experiences in the outdoors, to projects to improvethe ecology of the land we look after. In addition to leading and developing the project management community underneath them, the Senior Programme Manager will also directly manage or sponsor some key projects themselves, so experience in leading multi-millionpound programmes/projects is essential.Interviews will take place on Wednesday 17 August at our Wisley office in Surrey.We are looking at a potential £54,000 starting salary. Your work will be integrated into our National Trust Consultancy, which provides properties with advice and practical support across a full rangeof conservation disciplines, including project management, nature conservation, planning advice, building surveying, archaeology, curation and more. Youll oversee the design and implementation of major projects to help us to deliver our charitable purposeand strategic aims.Youll work closely with the Assistant Director of Consultancy and the Consultancy Managers who lead for project delivery and nature conservation. What youll be doing The role covers the London and South-East region and there will be a large group of stakeholders to manage and many lessons across different projects to share and apply. The role will involve recruiting and leading a team, leading for project managementexcellence, and creating transformational and cultural change.As part of our regional team, youll enjoy an extraordinary diversity of work with knowledgeable and committed colleagues, beautiful places, and a great support network on hand.Please also read the Role Profile attached to this advert. Who were looking for Professionally qualified in project/programme management you will have experience of successfully delivering end to end project/programme management including defining resources, securing project teams and matrix management. You will be able to demonstratethat you can work on your own initiative and be comfortable working in a geographically dispersed matrix environment supporting several projects and programmes at any one time. In addition, you will possess excellent communication, problem solving and influencingskills and be confident liaising with Senior Leaders.Prior experience delivering programmes/projects of capital investment is essential.
