Job Description

Summary You will have responsibility for delivering commercial activity across a broad range of allocated goods and services including, but not limited to; the development of procurement and contracting strategies for the London South East region, compiling tenders,awarding and managing contracts and supporting new contract implementation, providing commercial advice to internal and external stakeholders and driving service delivery improvements. Underpinning these activities is a focus on achieving excellent value formoney and delivering sustainable supply chains.Were recruiting for two positions in the London & South East working as part of our internal consultancy team. The region covers predominately the south east home counties, of Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, and London.To ensure effective stakeholder engagement with the property teams, who will be your key clients, some travel across the London & South East region will be expected as and when required to meet with your clients.Location: This role will initially be based from home as we work through the pandemic and then will be based from one of our regional hubs. Were flexible on the location and are happy for you to be based at one of our hubs in either Micheldever (Hampshire),Scotney (Kent), Wisley (Surrey) or Grosvenor Gardens (London)Salary: £32,300 - £34,300 dependent on experience What its like to work here The National Trust Consultancy is the home to specialists in every field of our work. What youll be doing Utilising your knowledge, skills and experience in contract management youll work in conjunction with a network of Contract Managers, the procurement team and other specialists in the organisation on the development and ongoing management of a suite ofcontracts which support our visitor attractions and property portfolio.As Contract Manager, you will be required to develop and manage contracts across a broad spectrum of supply areas, including: Facilities Management (hard and soft), gardens and outdoors materials, interpretation and signage and general equipment purchase.Youll work with your peers across the organisation and also the National procurement team to ensure contracts follow the National Trusts procurement programme, accreditation requirements and supply chain processes, to deliver and maintain cost effective,robust supply chains.Youll manage the supply chain for your region building productive relationships and through ongoing reviews of tenders youll ensure suppliers deliver sustainable value, great service and innovation.Youll be accountable for the development and implementation of new contracts and identify and manage supply chain risk as well as protect the reputation of the National Trust through the application and management of National Trust contracts.Using our internal systems as well as supplier performance tools and monitoring systems youll increase awareness of contract usage within your region through effective measurement and regular reporting. Who were looking for To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Thorough knowledge of supplier and contract management principles:
    • Strong contract management skills including; supplier performance management via structured review processes, issue resolution and contract reviews with stakeholders input
    • Strong supplier management skills with understanding of supplier relationship principles
    • Experience in managing supply chains and relevant contracts, including the use and monitoring of SLAs and KPIs
  • Demonstrable experience of procuring and managing a wide range of goods and services and achieving cost and process efficiencies
  • Thorough knowledge of procurement processes for the development and implementation of supply contracts, including experience of developing and issuing tenders, drafting contracts and ability to navigate and understand complex contract documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build strong collaborative relationships
  • Ability to identify and manage risk to the business making sure contracted services are safe, secure and compliant with all relevant legislation and National Trust guidance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including influencing and negotiation skills
