Job Description

Role Summary:The role is part time and the main responsibilities will be calculating pension deductions for payrolls, completing system interface files, importing, reconciling and reporting contribution data as per service level agreements. The key skills required for this role are good excel knowledge, good communication skills and experience in a finance environment.Business Function:Equiniti helps some of the UK’s best known brands and public sector organisations manage complex and regulated administration covering pensions, payroll and payments. We provide technology enabled pension administration and flexible benefits designed to provide an interactive experience through the life employees and scheme members. Our outsourced solutions help the life and pensions industry deliver high quality customer service and stay one-step ahead of evolving legislation and our expertise allows scheme trustees and sponsors to de-risk through data and calculation management.The Operations Finance and Accounting team are responsible for completing all finance related reports, tasks and reconciliations for one of EQs largest private sector clients, covering multiple pension schemes. All tasks must be completed in line with the contractual details and timescales as set out in the Service Level Agreement (SLA). The SLA also stipulates that the Finance teams have to ensure all adequate processes, procedures and controls are in place and are being adhered to in meeting legal, contractual and UK best practice’ standards.Core Duties/Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Calculation of monthly pension contributions for overseas payrolls, produce interface files for pension administration system and support payrolls when required.
  • Calculation of monthly pension contributions for MOD reservists, produce interface files for pension administration system and support payrolls/HR when required.
  • Assist in the production of external reporting for all overseas payrolls. This includes collating data from several sources and producing reports requesting contribution funding from client’s Treasury department for payment.
  • Assist in the monthly recording of contribution income from business units on the accounting system for defined benefit/hybrid pension schemes. Reconcile contribution income received with returns of data from payroll sites and with records held on the pension administration system. Assist in investigating and correcting errors advised by payrolls. Liaising with payrolls when required.
  • Assist in the production of all required monthly contribution reporting.
  • Analyse by transaction type monthly DC bank accounts and produce unallocated funds reports.
  • AVC/DC late payment reporting. This includes checking a sample list of members covering all payrolls to DC provider statements to ensure payment of monthly contributions is within specified time scales.
  • Assist Finance Manager with quarterly membership to finance data reconciliations, analyse membership data to payments held on finance ledger and investigated any differences.
  • Quarterly Tax reporting for all schemes. Complete HMRC quarterly tax returns for all schemes.
  • Assist where applicable on any future ad hoc projects
  • Skills, Capabilities and Attributes:The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
  • Computer literate with extremely strong Excel skills
  • Capable of communicating at all levels within the organisation and with external customers
  • Capable of working on own initiative
  • Team player
  • At least 8 years’ accounting experience
  • Some experience in a Pensions environment an advantage but not essential
