This role is to assist the strategic Director in overseeing the smooth running (and expansion) of the Company’s Operations Dept. which currently consists of around 15 office based staff design, technical and admin staff, several of whom are currently working remotely, 6 warehouse staff (including the foreman), 6 delivery teams, 6 field supervisors/inspectors as well as the team of sub-contracting engineers (c.15 crews work virtually full time for our client at present).The principal duties associated with the position are as follows:1) Ensuring that there are adequate installers, admin and distribution staff available at any time to meet demand and carry out the required number of installations. Currently, completing 40-50 installations per week across our range with each installation varying in duration from 1 to 5 days though we need to expand our capacity to be able to complete 60+ installations. We must expand whilst ensuring that any new staff receive adequate training, including in Health & Safety and compliance matters.2) Ensuring that any problems encountered on site are dealt with quickly and efficiently and that proper procedures for re-ordering parts are followed by our staff where necessary. Liasing directly with customers and/or installers in the case of serious problems arising, otherwise ensuring that the staff are in control of any routine difficulties. Notifying the directors of any serious matters when appropriate.3) Ensuring the Company’s inspection policy is adhered to and there are enough inspectors available and their workloads are properly managed to enable us to investigate any reported problems quickly.4) Ensuring that the reports submitted by the Company’s inspectors are properly evaluated and any necessary remedial action is carried out promptly. Further ensuring that all internal procedures for re-ordering equipment are followed and any work that falls under the scope of Part P of the building regulations is properly registered within the statutory time limits.5) Planning and managing the workloads of the all the department’s staff and regular sub-contractors to ensure that nobody is either overstretched or underemployed. Ensuring that staff in the department are following the proper procedures when performing their roles.6) Assessing the work produced by the installers in the field on an ongoing basis to identify any fitters whose work is regularly falling below the required standards and taking appropriate steps to either induce an improvement in standards or find alternative installers.7) Ensuring that the Company’s rates of pay for sub-contractors are rigidly enforced and that procedures are followed to ensure any expenditure incurred by the Company in carrying out remedial works is charged back to the original installer.8) Ensuring that payments from customers are collected on completion of works and, where this is not possible, establishing the reason(s) why a payment has been withheld and agreeing a schedule of further works with the customer in question.9) Ensuring that weekly reports are submitted to the Accounts Department so that customers are billed accuratelyand promptly.This role would suit someone who has worked in the construction industry and been responsible for installation teamsThe package for the successful applicant will be a basic salary , plus a car/car allowance and bonuses.Performance in the role will be measured by ongoing monitoring of the average time taken to complete contracts, the level of uncollected payments and comparisons of actual expenditure to the budget for sub-contracted installation labour, along with other relevant KPIs.Search Recruitment Ltd is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy"Due to the high volume of applications we currently receive, we are unable to respond to all candidates.
