Job Description

BuyerInitial 3-month contract(Outside IR35) Great Hourly Rate Farnborough (Hybrid working available)Are you an experienced Buyer who has demonstratable experience purchasing a range of products and components.Our client is known for designing and supplying temperature and nuclear environment rated camera systems on a global basis operating in Europe, Asia and the USA They are looking for an experienced Buyer who is ready to start moving into a more senior position and progress in their Buying career.BuyerThe responsibilities of the Buyer will be:

  • Identifying and negotiating with suppliers for material demands from the ERP system to support production schedule and projects.
  • To be a problem solver, managing and mitigating supply chain risk.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholdersSales, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Production.
  • Deliver on-going cost savings for the business through negotiation, and by building / maintaining strong supplier relationships.
  • Follow procurement best practices by monitoring and challenging suppliers OTIF, price increases, and reject rate regularly.
  • Undertake line management responsibilities and reporting when the Buyer Team Leader is out of office.
  • Manage the supplier base, including developing a supplier strategy and the ongoing maintenance/improvement of terms.
  • Develop and present new ideas to line manager to improve procurement processes and efficiencies.
  • To be the point of contact for shop floor queries and resolve these in a timely manner.
BuyerThe Buyer will have these essential skills:
  • Proven experience working in a Buyer role: 3-5 years would be ideal!
  • Experience working within a manufacturing company
  • Confidence with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel
