About the role: As an Infrastructure Enginner you will be part of a team of technical experts delivering, managing and developing managed hosting services 24/7 from infrastructure through to operating systems. The role will require you to be responsible for assisting with the technical delivery of all iomart managed hosting customers and product development.As an Infrastructure Engineer you will be managing systems to ensure 100% uptime for virtualisation systems (predominantly VMWare), and working closely with the team manager to ensure that we maintain 100% uptime for our customers. You will liaise with internal/external customers to understand technical requirements and resolve issues as quickly as possible and with minimum customer impact. You will also maintain our backups systems, which include Avamar Data Domain and Cohesity systems and assist with management of storage systems. The ideal candidate for the role will have/be:

VCP5/6, MSCE or relevant experience

Strong technical background: VMware virtualization, Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, Office 365, MS SQL, Microsoft Azure and Hyper-V

Strong understanding of the technologies and challenges in growing small/medium virtualization platforms

Experience of managing infrastructure/technical services in a hosted environment

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Good interpersonal skills when dealing with peers and clients

Strong customer service skills

Proactive organisational skills with attention to detail

Good document writing skills to support system documentation, report writing and bid work

Ability to manage work load for themselves and associated teams in pressurised environments to time, Aptitude to learn new skills

Ability to share knowledge and mentor junior members of the team when required

The following experience and skills are desirable, but not essential:

Experience of Avamar. Data domain and Cohesity

EMC products including VMAX, VNX, VNX2, xtremIO, Recoverpoint

Powershell / PowerCLI Scripting

Experience of P2V technologies

Experience in attaining industry compliance standards

Familiar with current developments and future trends re managed hosting systems/products
