What youll be doing: Based in our headquarters in Glasgow, as our In-house Legal Counsel you will review and assess legal requirements and effectively communicate these to the business and external stakeholders, maximising the benefit to iomart whilst ensuring adherence to alllaws and regulations.This is a terrific opportunity to become the first in-house legal counsel at iomart and to put your stamp on the role and on the group.On a day-to-day basis you will:

Understand the different products and services offered by iomart and the standard contractual documents which apply to them.
Review, draft and negotiate a range of commercial contracts including confidentiality agreements, customer supply agreements, supplier agreements and joint venture contracts.
Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
Support the data protection officer on UK GDPR matters including review of data processing agreements.
Give accurate and timely counsel to colleagues, with a focus on commercial and contractual legal topics.
Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
Work as part of iomarts Mergers and Acquisitions team.
Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to colleagues throughout the business.
Liaise with external legal support providers to obtain assistance and guidance as necessary.
Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding contractual documents and commercial contracts.
Provide updates to the executive management team regarding any changes to legislation, and agree any actions required.

We want to hear from you if you:

Are a qualified Solicitor, with strong experience gained within an in-house team or within a private practice commercial or corporate team. Experience in the technology, media and telecoms sector would be a bonus but is not essential.
Have strong commercial acumen and contract experience.
Have excellent drafting skills and attention to detail.
Have great communication skills.
Have the ability to interact with and advise employees at all levels within the business.
Are good at building strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Have the ability to work well in a team and independently.

The role is for an experienced legal counsel well versed in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts who will provide day-to-day legal support to the business on a range of legal disciplines.
