Job Description

We are on the hunt for an incredibly passionate and driven individual who thrives in a busy environment, providing incredible customer service and has a hunger to succeedin a forward-thinking environment.The Role:To be responsible for the availability of the companys networks, first and second line Service Desk capacity role, infrastructure support and related services. We are migrating away from existing external MSP, of whom will keep hosting and third line supportservices.Provide first and second line support to staff via internal Service Desk and infrastructure support, escalating to third line MSP where applicable

  • Wide area networks including firewalls, routers, and communications links
  • Secure remote access control systems including equipment, software and IAM
  • Wireless networks including WLAN controllers, access points and software
  • Local area network equipment, software and data cabling infrastructure
  • Web conferencing and collaboration systems infrastructure
  • Virtualised and cloud-based networking infrastructure
  • Systems management platforms
To work collaboratively with the MSP ensuring support for and development of infrastructure services.
  • To monitor and administer information security systems, ensuring use of company IT services and equipment is authorised and in accordance with Information Security and Acceptable Use policies
  • To co-ordinate with third-party Service Desk vendor to provide proactive automations to first touch resolutions where possible
  • To administer relevant, underpinning computing resources, including servers and virtual machines, ensuring each has up to date endpoint protection software installed
  • To complete vulnerability testing and follow best practice with regard to information security, ensuring security updates are tested and applied in a timely manner
  • To work with colleagues, third-party providers and response teams, to mitigate against and recover from, information security and business continuity incidents
  • Procurement of IT equipment and perform relevant benchmarking processes
  • Efficient and cost-effective technical support with timely feedback to users, adhering to Service Level Agreements and ensuring that accurate records of incidents and service requests are maintained.
  • Provision of technical guidance and training
You:
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or above
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) qualification desirable
  • ITIL Foundation Certificate or above desirable
  • Excellent experience in a Service Desk role
  • Excellent experience of administering Azure
  • Experience of administering alternative cloud-based hosting services, AWS desirable
  • Experience of supporting manufacturing environment either onsite or remotely desirable
  • Experience of working with 3rd parties to deploy, configure, support and maintain infrastructure services
  • Excellent working knowledge of data networking and communications technologies
  • Understanding of information security best practice and its implementation e.g. Cyber Essentials
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills, able to understand and make use of diagnostic and support tools.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and a systematic approach to a range of priorities.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, able to work effectively with staff at all levels and develop good working relationship with staff and external vendors.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical instructions in an accessible manner.
  • Able to suggest service improvements, implement changes and adapt accordingly
