Job Description

Mechanical Handling Service Engineer requiredPermanent PositionCovering - South East of the UK(South of Thames/Kent/Sussex/Surrey/East Hants)Salary £13.45 per hourHours of work : - Monday to Friday - 40 hours48 hours are generally available each week (after 48 hrs paid 1.5x)Plus one weekend in every three weekends:Saturday 8 hours (Paid at 1.5x)Sunday 6 hours (Paid at at 2x)We are looking to recruit a Mechanical Handling Service Engineer on behalf of our client .We are ideally seeking an Electro/Mechanical Engineer with an electrical/hydraulic bias for this role.You will be required to undertake a comprehensive repair and maintenanceservice to mechanical/electrical/hydraulic equipment at various locations in the South East of the UK.Specifically this role encompasses inspection and repair of mobility scooters, trolley pushing equipment, barrier gates, cardboard balers, dock levellersand scissor lifts and therefore single/three phase electrical and hydraulic skillsets are mandatory.Duties will include :

  • You will work alone from a purpose kitted service vehicle repairing a variety of equipment from the rear of the vehicle
  • You will liaise with the Service Office through telephone and email and will have an understanding of Smartphone use relating to Apps and email.
  • You will complete both electronic and written worksheets as required
  • You will attend all relevant training sessions that are deemed necessary by the group subject to reasonable notice.
The Person :
  • Must live in area specified.
  • Must be punctual, reliable and flexible.
  • CSCS card (if not currently will be required to obtain post starting, Client will fund)
  • Must be customer focused, friendly and able to liaise fully with our Customers at site
  • Must have good single and three phase electrical skillset, hydraulic and mechanical fault finding ability coupled with maintenance skills with suitable qualifications.
  • Ideally suited to individuals from a heavy engineering background as much of the work will involve troubleshooting and repairing Dock Levellers and loading bay systems
  • Full driving licence essential with minimal endorsements
