Job Description

Test Lead - Tech TeamBased at our Head Office in Whyteleafe, just 15 minutes outside of Croydon and easily commutable from London.   • You’ll own our testing community as the subject matter expert for the business – think processes / policies, tools, templates and standards, 3rd party relationships.
  • You’ll line manage our 2 x test analysts and help them be successful.
  • You’ll own relevant test environments – their use and evolution.
  • You’ll work alongside people from across our business, living in the world of change, and:
    • Own the definitin of the test strategy / planning for projects.
    • Build an understanding f the project (e.g. scope and success measures, budget, timelines, resource, etc).
    • Build an understanding f the needs (e.g. user stories, architecture, etc).
    • Translate this understanding int an executable, pragmatic, risk-adjusted approach to testing the changes being delivered (e.g. scope and priorities, testing methods inc. regression and automation, estimated timelines and resource, environments, defect management,progress reporting, etc).
    • Cllaboratively iterate this approach with the wider team to ensure it is well-rounded and considered.
    • Execute the agreed apprach to testing, working in partnership with people across the change.
    • Create relevant test scripts, test data and assciated artefacts (where not already produced).
    • Execute test scripts, wrking as an individual or alongside other testers or business resources (as your approach dictates).
    • Own the defect management prcess on behalf of the project (e.g. capture, impact assess, prioritise, support fix and re-test).
    • Prduce relevant and timely updates for the project team on progress.
We’re looking for someone who has:
  • Previous experience in testing - leading and executing on test activity across the lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to liaise at all levels within a company confidently and credibly, building connections with warmth and professionalism.
  • Good analytical thinking and an ability to be a critical friend – comfortable in the detail, thoughtful and able to influence and persuade based on sound reasoning.
  • The ability and willingness to resolve problems in a timely and logical manner
  • Strong time management - ability to manage and prioritise workloads to tight deadline, in a fast-paced high-agility environment.
  • The initiative to work well as an individual and the behaviours to thrive as part of a wider team.
