Our client based in Whyteleafe, near Caterham, Surrey are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join the teamClient DetailsOur client based in Whyteleafe, near Caterham, Surrey are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join the teamDescriptionAs the Management Accountant based from Whyteleafe, near Caterham, Surrey you will be responsible for:As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, month end journals and reconciliations as well as owning the companys property database and ensuing all lease requirements are met

• Month end close - Complete the month end close process for the assigned trading channels including accruals, prepayments, capex etc, ensuring that all month end close tasks relating to channels are completed to agreed timelines
• Management Accounts - Prepare and present the monthly P&Ls for the trading channels and working with the commercial finance team provide insightful commentary on variances to forecast, risks and opportunities
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations - Own and manage general ledger reconciliations including but not limited to the trading channels operation. Reconciling and understanding the numbers behind the results and resolving reconciling items on a monthly basis. Highlightany risks or opportunities as they arise.
• Retail store leases - Working with external advisors and the CFO, ownership of the property database, ensuring all lease terms are captured accurately and updating as necessary. Work with the Accounts Payable team to ensure all property related paymentsare made in accordance with the terms of thelease and any landlord queries are resolved on a timely basis. Work with the junior management account to ensure all turnover certificates are prepared and provided to landlords and managing agents on a monthly orannual basis.

• Budgets and Forecasts - Working with the commercial finance team on the budget and forecast process for the trading channels
• Relationships and business partnering - Build excellent relationships with the wider finance team and business including store and regional managers to ensure that they understand their P&L, forecasts, risks and opportunities and provide support and informationrequired to make effective decisions
• Audit - Support the Finance Manager in management of the external audit through the preparation of audit schedules, explanations, reconciliations

ProfileSkills / Experience

• Part Qualified or Qualified by experience (study support package provided) or with suitable experience
• Previous experience in a management accounting role, ideally within an FMCG company but not essential
• Inquisitive mind and a proactive attitude to problem solving
• Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
• Pride in your attention to detail and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team
• IT literate, with sound knowledge of Microsoft packages
