Job Description

Are you an experienced Service Engineer, fed up of feeling like a number rather than a valued team member Want to work for a business that pay you fairly for the hours and travel you do, including door to door overtime Or are you looking for a businessthat invest heavily in product training Then we want to hear from you!This globally recognised leader of specialist capital equipment, is seeking an electrically biased Field Service Technician to join their team. Youll will be required to travel nationally to install, commission and repair high power heat treatment machinerywhich are supplied to the glass manufacturing industry. With a strong network of service engineers across the UK, the business are able to provide the very best service to all of their customers.Responsibilities for the Service Engineer include -

  • Nationwide travel to carry out installation & commissioning of purpose built machinery
  • Carry out breakdown maintenance repairs both electrically and mechanically
  • Routine service and inspection visits
  • Fault find on Allen Bradley PLCs to work out faults and carry out corrective works
  • Providing end user support to customers as well as training and equipment demonstrations
There is a robust training package which is largely based around job shadowing other engineers to learn the products, how theyre built, but there will also be some overseas training in Finland during the probation period too.To be successful in this position, were looking for the following previous experience and skills- Previously a field service Engineer of capital equipment or heavy industry machinery - Hold a HNC or HNC electrical or electronic engineering - Have a solid understanding of PLCs and how to fault find- A strong knowledge of power supplies, controls and electrical test equipment is essential- Flexibility to travel nationwide, with occasional overnight stays- Clean drivers licenseBenefits include a basic salary of circa £38KTravel time door to doorOvertime paid at Time &after 40 hours during the week and Saturday, Double Time SundayChoice of either company car or vanOvernight allowance when working away including meals,Credit card for all expenses and fuel33 days holiday including bank holidaysA generous pension scheme and healthcare packagedASC Connections Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
