Summary Youll be joining the team at the innovative Childrens Country House at Sudbury to lead and direct the volunteer and access programme at this fun and creative heritage site.As a member of the Property Leadership Team and reporting to the Childrens and Community Manager, youll be managing and delivering all aspects of the portfolios strategic plan for volunteering engagement, developing new strategies and models for volunteerrecruitment, training and performance.Youll be responsible for managing access provision both on a daily and strategic level at CCH, developing strategies, resources and programmes that support our visitors and embed inclusive practice in our processes and culture.Youll be required to work regular weekends and school holidays.Internally youll be known as aSenior Volunteering & Community Officer.This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. We also want this same sense of wonder and curiosity for everyone who works at CCH, enabling our staff to engage with our family visitors and share in the fun and enjoyment.We have worked closely with children and families to design this new National Trust visitor experience, which includes the grand setting of the 17th century Sudbury Hall the playful Museum of Childhood and the historic grounds, complete with den-buildingactivities.By now joining our team you will have the opportunity to continue our work in developing this innovative experience for our young visitors and share in the excitement. What youll be doing Youll be leading for volunteer recruitment and involvement on and off the property, widening and deepening our relationship with existing and new audiences.You will line manage the Volunteering and Community Assistant, who supports the organisation andadministration of the CCH volunteer offer, as well as event support, as well as a team of approx.40 - 50 volunteers.Managing the development and delivery of our volunteer and community engagement, youll ensure that it is linked to our strategic priorities re access and inclusion.Collaborating with departments and consultants to offer a varied and active volunteer programme,youll ensure an inclusive team culture, that responds to volunteer needs and experiences.Youll be responsible for ensuring a quality and embedded visitor experience for all visitors with access requirements, liaising with colleagues and external partners where necessary.
