Summary The Childrens Country House at Sudbury is the first heritage experience of its kind for the National Trust, where the Hall, Museum and Garden put children and families at the very centre of the experience.Joining us as Collections and House Manager atthis exciting time will mean leading your team to provide high quality and efficient day to day care, documentation and management of Sudbury Hall and its collection.Youll have the skills and experience to collaborate with curators, conservators and our visitor experience team to find innovative solutions and opportunities to our collection.This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. Our offer is unique, deeply authentic and profoundly impactful and so is the team that work here.Youll manage a small team, report to the General Manager and be part of the Senior Leadership Team, which covers Duty Management so weekend working is part of the role.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) youll be responsible for the effective operation of the overall property and the delivery of the property business plan.Youll be responsible for the delivery of daily care and conservation, as well as documentation of the collection. Youll be familiar with monitoring and risk required for the care of historic items. Youll have experience with collections development andrationalisation of what is used for display and engagement in each room.As a member of the SLT youll also contribute to plans for access and engagement, working with other heads of department to focus on the visitor experience.
