Summary Are you passionate about engaging children with heritage and conservation Can you bring your conservation knowledge to this close-knit team We need someone who can champion fantastic collections care while engaging with children and their families,supervising staff and volunteers to give great experiences. This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. What its like to work here Reporting into the Senior Collections and House Officer, youll be working with two other Collections Assistants and two Collections and House Officers.Sudbury Hall, the country home of the Lords Vernon, offers a delight of 17th-century craftsmanship, featuring exquisite plasterwork, wood carvings and classical story-based murals.The Museum of Childhood is a delight for all ages with something for everyone. Children can discover something new, or relive nostalgic memories by exploring the childhoods of times gone by, make stories, play with toys and share your childhood with others. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll be responsible for the daily opening of the hall and museum, ensuring a consistently excellent service for our visitors. Working as a team of Collection Assistants, youll be responsible for completing conservation routines and annual deep cleaningprogrammes within the hall and museum, ensuring excellent standards of care, and delivering strategies to improve conservation.Youll support the continued development and delivery of the Childrens Country House and enjoy sharing stories about our collections to children. Youll collect and record information during housekeeping cleaning routines to inform our understanding ofthe collection using preventive conservation techniques to improve how we conserve, interpret, and present the property.Please also read the full role profile attached to this advert.
