What its like to work here The Childrens Country House at Sudbury is a brand-new visitor offer for children and families, offering a playful heritage day out. Weve been working alongside children to design a heritage attraction that works for them and makesthem feel engaged and empowered. Every member of our team will be focused on the key goal of engaging children with heritage and making our work as playful, accessible and inclusive as possible. We have the highest standards of conservation and care for ourcollections,buildings and gardens and we carry out this purpose with and for the children who visit us. The gardens include our historic parterre which echos formal planting plans, and colourful displays supporting a variety of pollinators, as well as a lake. New spaces are being opened up, as we continue to work with children to further develop the garden.Reporting to the General Manager, youll manage your own team consisting of a gardener and volunteers. What youll be doing Using our concept plans, this is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the Garden project. Alongside this, the role will include daily management of the garden and wider parkland. Youll ensure that the highest standards of horticulture aremet, alongside our nature and conservation principles.The gardens team play a crucial visitor-facing role for children to engage with, by also deliveringfun and inspiring outdoor activities. Youll lead on this and work with the wider team in developing these opportunities.As part of the Senior Leadership Team youll be a part of the steering group for the property. This focusses on strategic development including people and team management as well as financial and business planning.
