Job Description

Summary The Childrens Country House at Sudbury is the first heritage experience of its kind for the National Trust, where the Hall, Museum and Gardens put young people at the very centre of the experience. As Childrens and Community Manager (internally known as Programming and Partnerships Manager) youll join us at an exciting time, youll lead a team to embed and develop our work in learning, volunteering and programming.Youll have the skills and experience to grow our schools offer, be able to identify and work with partner organisations and develop ways to engage with children and communities in new and exciting ways. Youll manage a small team, report to the General Manager and be part of the Property Leadership Team, which covers Duty Management so weekend working is part of the role.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As a member of the property leadership team youll be responsible for the effective operation of the overall property and the delivery of the property business plan. Youll be responsible for a team who work across multiple disciplines including:

  • Schools - managing the operation and expanding The Childrens Country House Learning offer
  • Working with Communities - build and create a strategy to identify and work with partner organisations
  • Volunteering - lead the strategy to develop a volunteer offer that is diverse and accessible
  • Access - work to ensure The Childrens Country House is as inclusive as possible
  • Family Programming - to develop new and exciting ways to engage with families whilst onsite
  • Safeguarding - to manage risks and ensure the property remains a safe place for children
As a leader youll ensure each of these areas are delivered to a high quality, have robust evaluation and are explored for areas of growth and development. Youll produce regular reports, manage budgets, feed into the property development plan, create projectplans and much more. Who were looking for Were looking for someone who has:
