Job Description

Support Worker (Learning Disabilities Services) £25,278.74 FTE / £13.10 per hour NorthallertonPart Time - 18 hours per week Working over 7 days Monday - Sunday between the hours of 8am and 8.30pm (3 x 6hr shifts per week on a rota basis) Closing date - Monday 24th July at 9am Interview date - Tuesday 1st August Do you have great listening and communication skills and an interest in supporting vulnerable peopleOur client now has an opportunity for Support Worker (part time) to provide intensive housing and support services to vulnerable people living in their own homesThe RoleTheir Support Workers deliver excellent support services and help to promote independence including moving into unsupported housing. Joining the team, you will be on-hand to intervene at times of crisis to prevent a move into a high support environment,such as a hospital.You’ll help with the assessment of service-user needs and create an agreement of support. As an approachable and customer-focused individual, you will be welcoming to service-users in their new accommodation and develop an open and honest relationship withthem. You’lldemonstrate an understanding of their own experiences and encourage them to participate in a range of activities, including within the local community to develop life skills and develop a sense of achievement and fulfilment.What are they looking for:

  • A good understanding of the principles of practice in working with vulnerable people.
  • A commitment to equal opportunities. Flexibility in providing services. Willingness to participate in learning events.
  • NVQ level II in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle for business purposes
