Job Description

My client are looking for a PE Teacher for a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Northumberland to start in January 2024. The school caters for students who are unable to access mainstream education due to their challenging behaviour, SEMH needs and therecan be other additional needs.We support Education providers that educate children and young people who for many reasons cannot access any other formal educational settings - these are the most vulnerable, at risk and hard to reach in our community. Understanding their SEMH needs mustbe met before any academic development can happen. Understanding their SEMH needs is essential in these roles and we are seeking individuals who can make a positive impact.My client have made huge steps this year to become one of the best PRUs in the NorthEast, providing a 4 day teaching week and reward day on a Friday. They have therapy dogs on site and they have made a massive difference to their students due to their effectiveand highly successful Senior Leadershipship Team.PRU PE Teacher role;

  • Qualified PE Teacher
  • Therapeutic teaching approach
  • Able to deliver PE at KS3 & KS4
  • Experience of teaching with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies
