Job Description

Salary: Band 7, £30,117 - £32,772 per annumLocation: Agile, Ponteland and homeworkingHours/Contract: 37hrs per week. 12 month fixed term / secondment (with option to extend)The roleHere at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! It takes a great deal of people from different backgrounds, with diverse skills and experience to serve our force area effectively, think you have what it takes to help us make a difference Thiscould be the perfect time for you to join us in our Digital Department as an Airwave Support Adviser.You will participate in the delivery of a performant, cost effective and appropriately resilient mission critical Force Communication (incorporating Airwave radios service, ICCS and Digital Policing services) that meets the agreed service levels for criticalbusiness functions.What you’ll do

  • Participate in the effective delivery and subsequent 1st and 2nd line support of the Airwave support services and other mission critical Force Communication systems, undertaking the initial diagnosis and correction of faults where appropriate, identifyand report to the appropriate system maintainer in order to ensure faults are rectified promptly and continuity of service is maintained.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers (engineers, support staff and account managers) to support the delivery of Airwave support services and other mission critical Force Communication systems at the agreed service level.
  • Participate in the installation, configuration and documentation of new Airwave equipment and related products, systems and services, as planned and to the correct standards.
  • Assess user requirements for special events and operations, providing technical support and secure communications where necessary. Participate in critical command structure for major incidents, including working outside office hours, in order to ensurean effective service is provided to support operational policing needs.
  • Manage and implement CRYPTO information for covert critical communications and equipment on behalf of 4 NE region Forces for Airwave and associated Digital Policing equipment.
