Job Description

Excellent opportunity for a Supplier Relationship Manager to join the KCS team. KCS has been providing furniture within the education and office markets for over 70 years and generate sales in the region of £3m per year. A critical product line for KCS we are now growing our market opportunities which are closely supported by having strong relationships with our many suppliers.The role is to own and manage KCS’s furniture supply chain from procuring products through to supplier relationships. This entails responsibility for the hundreds of products that KCS provide in its range to include negotiating best-value with the supply chain. It is critical for KCS to be at the fore-front of excellence in the furniture world which is delivered through class-leading relationships, communication and regular interactions with key stakeholders.The role has a wider scope to include supporting supplier negotiations in relation to advertising revenues, rebate payments for volumes of their product that we sell, promotional offers to launch new ranges and for other paid-opportunities from the Supply-chain. Furthermore, working closely with suppliers enable them to utilise the KCS public sector compliant framework that allows them to trade directly with public sector organisations.As part of the responsibilities the Furniture Supplier Relationship Manager will be involved in all furniture elements of KCS’s annual catalogue process which is a process spanning 4-6 months in preparation for significant UK & International deliveries of over 20,000 catalogues.Essential Criteria;

  • Ability to negotiate effectively to deliver KCS with critical savings in purchasing, whilst also gaining long-term commitment from suppliers in difficult market.
  • Excellent IT office skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Tracking and measuring own performance, working to sales targets and daily call targets.
  • Time management and a demonstrable ability to prioritise workload, and understand sales cycle.
  • Education market knowledge is desirable.
  • Working with a wide range of furniture products and services (both educational and office based) is desirable.
  • Public sector knowledge is desirable.
