Job Description

Operations is at the centre of KCS’s customer experience, within the team all activities undertaken are done so for the customer, knowing this ensures we strive for excellence.KCS are currently looking to recruit for an experienced Operations Manager to take up a post across Aylesford in Kent (primary location) and Audenshaw in Manchester. This exciting role where you will hold responsibility and accountability for all daily operational activities across two sites within the consumer goods sector. Controlling a huge range of inventory that flows in, through and out on a daily basis. The post would suit somebody who has extensive experience in a FMCG environment.This critical role will require leading and inspiring all warehousing and transport functions, to achieve an outstanding customer experience. The role will have direct line management responsibility for a team of six (managers and supervisors) and responsibility of circa sixty heads. The role reports directly to the Customer Experience Director.As Operations Manager you will;

  • Continuously strive for service excellence, continuous improvement and best practice. Planning, implementing and delivering to a high quality standard ensuring that all deadlines are met.
  • Effective management of managers and supervisors, their performance and development, supporting them and their teams to deliver an outstanding’ customer experience within a time sensitive and demanding environment.
  • Hold accountability for the service levels experienced by our customers from receipt of order through to delivered goods.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all areas under your control and seek continuous improvement to maintain standards.
  • Offer strategic planning and leadership of the team and service provided.
  • Maintain and promote a positive Health and Safety culture.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and make our customer experience greater than ever.
  • The successful candidate will have but not limited to the following:
  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager working within the FMCG sector.
  • Ability to demonstrate a track record of managing and motivating a team.
  • Experience of managing service-focused, multi-disciplined operations, and logistics workforce.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain high levels of professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to problem solve and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of IT proficiency including MS Office, vehicle routing software, and WMS systems.
  • Experience in the exporting of goods from the UK to deliver around the world.
  • Experienced with staff recruitment, workforce planning, and people management.
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.
