Job Description

REED Further Education Nottingham are recruiting for Teaching Assistants (Learning Support Assistant) to work with 16+ learners with SEND at a College in the West Midlands area.Job Title: Teaching Assistant - SENDPosition: Part-Time, between 11 and 29 hours timetableRole type: Temporary OngoingLocation: Longbridge, Birmingham, West MidlandsRate: £10 p/h to £13 p/h including holiday paySuccessful Teaching Assistants will have the following skills and qualifications:

Minimum Level 2 qualification as a Teaching Assistant - desirable
Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English & Maths
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills
Experience working with adults/teenagers or children with special education needs
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through REED Compliance

Responsibilities:

To provide one-to-one support and supervision of students with special education needs/learning difficulties and disabilities within the classroom
To encourage the learners to excel to reach their full academic potential
To support learners with their literacy and numeracy
To create, monitor and review SMART targets
To manage challenging behaviour, where necessary
To maintain accurate records of learners progress
