Job Description

We have a number of positions in our factory in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside that we are looking to fill with candidates who are either skilled in Textile manufacturing or who may be looking to change their career.BENEFITS OF WORKING FOR JOHN SMEDLEY

Full time permanent positions Mon-Thurs 7.00am-4.00pm and Friday 7am-12.00pm

THE CANDIDATE

Successful candidates will have the following:
Previous textile manufacturing experience would be an advantage but is not essential
Manual dexterity
Ability to complete basic paperwork
Team work
Ability to follow instructions
Be able to travel to the site at Lea Mills, Matlock, Derbyshire without reliance on public transport

Types of roles we have available:Neck linking using a fine gauge neck linking machine to attach trims to panels (full training would be provided)Seamingusing a cup seaming sewing machine that seams our panels together (full training would be provided)Trim Splittingfollowing knitting, our trims require splitting and having a label attached by an overlocking machine (full training would be given).ABOUT US SECTIONJohn Smedley Ltd is the oldest continuously operating manufacturer in the world, producing fine gauge knitwear from their Lea Mills, Derbyshire factory since 1784.
