Job Description

TEXTILE DYE HOUSE COMPLIANCE SUPERVISORThis is a permanent, full time role working with our Wash and Dye House Teams and reporting to our Technical Director.This role will be a mix of laboratory work and supervision of compliance in our Wash and Dye house section.BENEFITS

THE ROLEThe role involves the day-to-day supervision of the Supervisors and Operators in the Dye House to ensure compliance and repeatability of colours. The successful candidate would create colours in liaison with the Technical Director and Design which willperform to customer requirements. Your work within the Dye Laboratory would be varied and involve selecting the right dyes and conditions to meet customer expectations whilst preparing shade matches and producing a final formula for use in the manufacturingprocess and producing samples to send to customers for approval.THE CANDIDATEIt is essential that you possess good colour vision along with a good understanding of the chemistry involved in the dyeing process, coupled with good practical, problem solving and strong mathematical skills ensuring at all times a high degree of accuracyand attention to detail is maintained. Textile processing experience and knowledge is essential within this area, along with H&S, REACH & COSHH requirementsYour communication and IT skills need to be effective, with a high level of proficiency in packages such as Microsoft Excel along with the ability to work as part of a team, or on your own.ABOUT USJohn Smedley Ltd is the oldest continuously operating manufacturer in the world, producing fine gauge knitwear from their Lea Mills, Derbyshire factory since 1784.John Smedley holds two Royal Warrants for the manufacturer of fine knitwear from Her Majesty The Queen & His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
