THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Proven supervisory experience and relevant supervisory training/qualification
Textile industry knowledge an advantage but not essential.
Intermediate skill with Excel and other Microsoft related products.
Excellent ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work as a team and have a flexible approach to their work.

THE ROLEThe successful candidate will work as part of a team on alternative shifts to a second shift team leader. This is an important role managing a large team in our Knitting area. The role includes ensuring that there is a consistent workflow, prioritisingurgent work, scanning of tickets, ensuring health and safety/housekeeping and updating of risk assessments, standard operating procedures, reporting to the Operations Manager and the day to day supervision of the room.Our skilled team operates across 3 shifts (days, noons and nights) although the hours of work for this role will be a two shift roster working either days or noon 6am - 2pm and 2pm until 10pm.ABOUT USJohn Smedley Ltd is the oldest continuously operating manufacturer in the world, producing fine gauge knitwear from their Lea Mills, Derbyshire factory since 1784.John Smedley holds two Royal Warrants for the manufacturer of fine knitwear from Her Majesty The Queen & His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
