Job Description

The CompanyNational multi-site business is seeking a technically proficient and strategically astute IT Manager to lead the companys IT function as it embarks on a period of rapid growth.The RoleThough part of an international group, you will operate, as part of the UK management team, in an autonomous role, where you will be supported by a small team, to ensure that the IT are systems are both fit for purpose now as well as identifying and implementingimprovement plans for the future.In this hands on role, you will need to be operational, though will be expected to spend most of your time managing the department as well as leading projects, such as their impending ERP implementation. Specifically you will:

  • Manage all systems, including networking, infrastructure, applicationsand telephony systems
  • Design, develop and deliver a robust, efficient IT strategy to deliver service to stakeholders, to the agreed service levels in response to changing business needs.
  • Plan, organise, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations, including continuously improving facilities for office, remote and hybrid-working.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes, policies and procedures to promote best practice in the use of IT services.
  • Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems inline with risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Preserve company assets by maintaining disaster recovery, back-up procedures, security and control structures. Safeguard Company IT hardware across the business in line with company policies and best practice.
  • Oversee helpdesk and support services provided to both end users and application managers, including documenting standard processes and procedures.
  • Work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that IT initiatives, provision and projects help develop and meets the commercial needs. Identify problematic areas then research and implement strategic solutions using latest technology where required.
  • Maintain quality service by initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Complete projects by coordinating resources and timetables with other departments and staff where necessary.
  • Provide effective management of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage IT staff by identifying training needs and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance.
  • Provide regular and accurate management reporting.
The RequirementsYou will be a technically sound and strategic thinking IT Manager. Having ideally been responsible for leading an IT team within an SME, you will be commercially astute and possess strong people management, project management and stakeholder management skills.Any exposure to ERP systems would be beneficial though not essential.This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious IT Manager to make their mark in what will be an exciting time for the company.
