Job Description

THE BUSINESSA Payroll Coordinator is required to join the HR department based in Jarrow. Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role is essential and must be fully experienced to run a weekly payroll from start to finish.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business that has continued to grow and thrive within its sector.   • Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
  • Calculate and process payroll deductions, i.e. attachment of earnings
  • Understanding of Statutory payments, i.e. Maternity, Paternity, Sick Pay, National Minimum Wage etc.
  • Assist with the administration of the Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme - NEST
  • Stay up to date with payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Accessing, retrieving and updating information from the HMRC Website
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
  • Work alongside HR to ensure accurate recording of employee information and ensure data integrity
  • Other general HR office duties
THE PERSON
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Computer literate with excellent Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Sage 50 software is essential
  • Able to analyse data for costings and identify discrepancies or errors
  • High level of accuracy is essential
  • Ability to multi-task, handling various tasks at the same time but executing each one to a high standard
  • Able to always remain discrete ensuring Payroll and HR details are kept confidential
  • Effective communicator at all levels
  • Pleasant and friendly telephone manner
