You will be a trusted part of the reporting team providing critical financial information to Directors which is immediatelyacknowledged as a key driver to business performance. You will also be recognised as a strong number 2 to the Group Finance Manager, able to deputise for them when needed. You will also be the first person asked to support with finance change initiatives,not just to help with delivery but also your input into what should change will always be sought.About the roleThe purpose of this role is to prepare financial information to support month end close and ensure reporting requirements are met on a timely basis. Duties include preparation and posting of various journals/accruals/prepayments, as well as completing monthlybalance sheet reconciliations and assistance with budgeting/forecasting. There is also ad hoc financial analysis throughout the month to support Operational teams and the Group Finance Manager. Duties include:

Support the Group Finance Manager with the close of financial month end, ensuring accurate reporting within financial timescales.

Preparation and posting of journals including accruals and prepayments

Completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations including the WIP balance to ensure strong controls are in place with the finance team

Posting and reconciliation of payroll at month end

Preparation of Management Accounts which includes variance analysis for P&L

Preparation of monthly divisional review packs.

Assistance with budgeting and forecasting

About youWe are looking for an ambitious Management Accountant, at finalist or newly qualified level (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). You will looking for the next step up where you will be given autonomy and responsibility to take ownership of reporting. You will need a strongbackground in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.APEM Group are on a high growth agenda to meet the needs of the environmental and green jobs sector, therefore you will need to open to change and be able to show where you have found improvements to systems, reporting and processes. Some project managementexperience would also be advantageous.
