As our first Group Financial Controller, you will take full responsibility for the finance operations across our growing business.In return we offer an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to help to shape and define our growing finance team. You will be given the autonomy to ensure the team deliver best in class finance operations, helping to improve accuracy and thethrough the delivery of new technology and efficiencies, help to reduce the time for monthly and quarterly reporting.About the roleYou will lead a dedicated team of finance staff who support the day-to-day finance operations for the business. Your team include the transactional team including AP, AR and Payroll. You will also be responsible for a team of Management Accountants who deliverfinancial reports (including commentary, variance analysis, KPIs, trend analysis) to Divisional Directors, Group board and our PE backers.By carrying out a full review of all our internal controls, you will focus on creation of efficiencies and improvements in relation to transactional processes. You will also take a lead in cashflow management, ensuring strong treasury management, and yourteam will provide a weekly 13-week cashflow report.Our finance team is based in Manchester, we offer flexible and remote working with an expectation that you will be meet and support your teams on average once per week in the city centre or in our office in Heaton Mersey, therefore a North-West based applicantis preferred.About youWe are looking for a technically strong qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Financial Controller with exceptional operational finance experience and with a proven track record in leading and developing a team and who can be relied upon to take responsibility for day-to-dayfinance matters and finance operations.Ideally you will have worked at a PE backed growing business, or you will have experience from a medium sized business undergoing high growth. You should have a natural style which ensures your team are empowered to manage and effect change but you willneed to be hands on where appropriate.In addition to experience of helping to drive efficiencies through continuous improvement, as you grow and acquire businesses we would look for you to support the integration of new businesses into the finance function both with transactional processingand reporting. It would also be ideal if you had some international experience, we operate in other countries including US and Ireland so an understanding of various tax issues and local reporting requirements would be highly advantageous.Next stepsWe expect significant interest in this flexible and rewarding role.
