Job Description

We are searching for a Student Support Worker to take on a fantastic opportunity in one of the prisons we are supporting. If you are passionate about supporting vulnerable people and are looking for a new, challenging opportunity, this is the perfect rolefor you!Role Details:

  • Full Time- 37 Hours Per Week
  • Working hours 8am-4:45pm
  • £18421-£20447
  • Permanent Role

  • Provide comprehensive, confidential and impartial information services on educational and training opportunities within the establishment
  • Support learners through initial assessments using a range of activities including computer-based information if appropriate
  • Contribute to the effective allocation of learners to Learning & Skills provision, action planning, learner contracts and the creation of Individual Learning Plans
  • Liaise with all agencies/stakeholders in order to contribute to a consistent and continuous learning journey in custody and in the community
The Ideal Candidate:
  • To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale
  • Relevant experience of conducting initial assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
  • Experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities.
  • Experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
