Job Description

Summary Moseley Old Hall was a hiding place of King Charles II when he fled after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. It has a fascinating story about a King on the run, and how the family at Moseley Old Hall helped provide sanctuary and refuge.Were looking for a Property Operations Manager to maintain the highest standards in our facilities management at the Hall. Youll be responsible for a team of staff and volunteers - accountable for the operating budget, the management of our emergency proceduresand duty rotas and for delivering an outstanding experience for our visitors. What its like to work here Youll be part of the Portfolio Leadership Team responsible for strategic planning and overall management. Youll work with a team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about Moseley Old Hall & the role the Trust plays in looking after places like thisfor the benefit of thousands of visitors, as well as being committed to building closer relationships and community links with our neighbours in nearby Wolverhampton. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing Youll support your team to develop the right priorities, providing the resources and direction for them to deliver our strategy - ensuring there is clear communication and teamwork will be part of your everyday work. Youll be highly visible to the teamon a day-to-day basis, actively involved but also ensuring that they feel empowered to make decisions that are delegated to the right level. Some evening and weekend working will be needed. Who were looking for To succeed youll need to have:

  • Experience of managing high volume visitor operations, good practical understanding of compliance, health & safety and the management of emergency procedures
  • A keen eye for detail and the importance of great service and presentation standards in running a visitor business
  • An aptitude for solving problems and remaining calm under pressure
  • A track record of leading diverse professional teams and of being both an inspiring leader and a great people manager
  • An understanding of facilities management and buildings in a heritage setting and of the principles of conservation in respect to historic buildings and their collections
  • Some experience of managing contractors, of income generation and managing budgets
  • An obvious passion for heritage and its importance to people and communities
