We have a new opportunity for a Functional Skills Tutorto join our team on a hybrid basis based in Wolverhampton. You will join us on a full orpart-time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £20,000 - £28,000 per annum pro rata.Operating for over 35 years, Juniper is one of the UKs most experienced providers of training and apprenticeships. • Deliver engaging, effective and innovative training sessions to students in a group setting or one to one basis
• Ensure that students work-skills are developed
• Engage external speakers (employers, business people, celebrities, progression/support agencies) in order to enhance the learning experience
• Deliver functional skills qualifications
• Arrange and facilitate motivational visits/activities
• Conduct & use initial assessment effectively and set students appropriate, but challenging, targets & goals
• Assess readiness for FS exams
• Conduct and document meaningful student reviews as per procedures
• Invigilate exams and mark functional skills exam papers as appropriate
• Ensure that student attendance & retention targets are met, with absences robustly followed up
• Achieve targets to meet contractual/blueprint obligations

Skills and abilities, were looking for in our Functional Skills Tutor:

• Level 2 English & Maths (or working at)
• Excellent communicator
• Ability to persuade & influence others and deal with conflict/challenging behaviour
• Ability to build rapport with target group and retain their attention during training sessions
• Ability to work well under pressure and work to targets & deadlines
• Innovative & solution focused
• Excellent organisation skills
• Competent in use of IT
• Ability to meet targets and provide a quality service to all stakeholders
