Job Description

Summary The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea-rooms and restaurants all over England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and wed love you to join us.We’re looking for two Food and Beverage Team Members to join us at Moseley Old Hall. Wherever possible, we aim to offer a consistent working pattern, but were looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time totime to suit the needs of the business. Wed give you as much notice of this as possible. The role will include weekends and Bank Holidays, however, there are no evenings or split shifts.This role will be mainly weekday working, Monday to Friday with theodd weekend shift.Salary: £10.50 per hour.Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 31st December 2024. What its like to work here Reporting to Food & Beverage Manager, youll be based at Moseley Old Hall (Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, WV10 7HY), an Elizabethan farmhouse that has been under the care of the Trust for over 60 years. It was built in 1600 and wasone of the hiding places of King Charles II when he fled after the Battle of Worcester in 1651. It is a fascinating story about a King on the run, and how the family at Moseley Old Hall helped provide sanctuary and refuge. What youll be doing As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome andlook after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your ‘can-do’ attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you’ll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that’s constantly onthe go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial. You’ll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You’ll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you’ll make sure all displays and signs are accurateand looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food. We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
