Principal PHP Software Engineer x 2: Permanent Remote Opportunity: £Excellent + Excellent BenefitsOur client is a world leader in the development of technologies to support education and employ 360 staff across 2 separate divisions globally.Priding themselves on their core values and an embedded positive culture, due to their continued growth & success my client is seeking to recruit 2 x Principal Software Engineers to join their team based in County Antrim.This is a remote WFH role, however, please be aware travel to the client site will be required once per month.You will be a strong PHP developer with a keen interest in web technologies, and some knowledge of git and Linux would be useful.As part of the Principal Development Team, you will scope and lead development projects and develop the maintenance of internal data systems and product support systemsWork closely with teams across the company to analyse existing business processes, you will collaborate with colleagues with a view to streamlining & automating where possible.Essential Criteria 5+ years of commercial PHP & MySQL development experience Strong development and communication skills Experience scoping & managing development projects Experience communicating with stakeholdersDesirable Criteria 2.1 degree or higher in a related discipline (computer science/software engineering) Knowledge of secure coding practises for web development - e.g.: OWASP Top 10 Experience building, securing and consuming REST APIs Experience working with open-source projects Experience working with large PHP applications Experience with JavaScript & JavaScript frameworks (e.g. NodeJS, Angular) Experience with cloud-based server architecture (AWS or equivalent) Experience with working in an agile environment Experience with front end web design, or building user interfaces (CSS, HTML5, etc) Experience of Git or other VCS Experience of working within a quality systemCandidates wishing to apply should be self-motivated, driven to meet deadlines, able to cope with pressure, possess a strong analytical mindset, be a good team player and be curious and passionate about latest technologies.If the above sounds like you, please contact me ASAP.
