Job Description

From PCB design through to automated contract SMT assembly line we offer a fast and friendly service geared around getting new products quickly and reliably tomarket. We have extensive experience in both domestic and commercial market segments with the common theme of sustainable living, energy management/control and products which make our world a happier, cleaner and safer place.About the RoleDue to continued growth, we have a fantastic opportunity for a well-motivated individual to play a crucial part in the successful growth of the business.Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will take on multiple tasks with the design cycle which include:

  • Schematic design/entry
  • PCB layout and routing
  • Embedded software development
  • Operating system deployment.
This role offers real scope for progression so you will need to be able to demonstrate a willing to expand on your skill set.About YouThe successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) 2.1 or higher with a strong background in electronics and software.You should have at least 2 years professional experience working on electronic projects.
  • Knowledge of Altium, ARM Cortex MCU build and debug environments, rapid-prototyping and Linux OS would be advantageous, as would an understanding of power supplies and wireless design.
  • You will have good interpersonal skills and communication skills, both verbally and written, along with good administration and IT skills.
  • The role will also involve planning and presentation skills. You must be innovative and inventive and be capable of probing and contributing to technical designs being developed by others.
Skills development will include
  • Product design for volume manufacture
  • Project management from concept to manufacture
  • Analogue and Digital circuit design
  • Embedded software development in bare-metal C and RTOS environments
  • Working with Linux (experience with Raspberry Pi would be good)
  • Basic GUI development (custom environments and html)
  • CE-Marking & EMC testing
  • Dealing with clients
  • Defining and working to quality standards such as ISO9001
