Any applicants that require reasonable adjustmentsthroughout the selection process/further flexibilityare able contact us directly to inform us of any additionalsupport that is required.If you require adjustments made to the standard interview process (e.g. a working interview or a different interview format) then please contact the Recruitment Team:Role Purpose:The Network Maintenance Craftsperson (Instrument) position is a mobile role focusing on maintaining and calibrating instrument systems on a variety of gas sites owned & operated by NGN. The systems range from simple transmitter loops to fiscal metering systems.The department has recently merged with our Capital Projects team, making this really exciting in terms of developing further skills and working cross-functionally.Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Standby 365 days a year on a rota basis ideally 1 in 4
  • Variable work patterns (When required)
  • Lone working out of hours
  • Maintaining and calibrating instrumentation systems
  • Fault finding on instrumentation systems
  • Repair and replacement of components, fittings, and fixtures
  • Completion of paperwork/systems for results and readings
  • Commissioning of equipment
  • Using IT in the field for work reporting
  • Gas Quality work (development required for all)
Qualifications requiredEssential:
  • Relevant Electrical or Instrumentation Apprenticeship (City & Guilds) & NVQ
  • Logical thinker, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Proactive attitude: strong team player, whilst also having the ability to work on their own initiative
  • Knowledge of codes of practice, engineering instructions and safety requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
  • EUSR Gas passport
  • COMPEX EX 01,02,03,04
  • SCO 1, 2 and 4
  • Experience on gas distribution systems
  • EL6 sign off (Restricted Authorised Person)
  • TIM 2,3,4
  • HNC Level (Instrumentation)
