Job Description

Job Title: CNC MachinistLocation: AberdeenSalary: Up to £17.50 per hour DOEWorking hours: Flexible working hours between Monday to Friday 6am - 6pm and Friday 6am - 2pmReports To: Machine Shop Team LeaderWe are delighted to be working with a fantastic company who manufacture bespoke subsea cable and connector assembly engineering for the oil and gas, marine renewable energy and defence industries. They are certified to ISO 9001 and 14001:2015 to design andmanufacture subsea electrical and optical connectors, electrical pressure hull penetrators, associated subsea electrical cable terminations, installation of electrical and optical connectors, specialist underwater and harsh environment electrical and opticalcomposite cables, tethers and umbilicals. Their products are precision-engineered to withstand the harshest environmental conditions.From their modern manufacturing facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland, they support customers from prototype concept stage through to project management and maintenance.Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and CNC Lathes and milling machines.
  • Produce components to fine tolerances from engineering drawings.
  • Track and record progress of all jobs on the shop floor via the ERP system.
  • Control, record and ensure traceability of stock materials.
  • Update the manual record of machine maintenance weekly.
  • Machine items for general factory use within the Group.
  • Adopt good housekeeping practices for the Machine Shop Area (swarf clearance).
  • Liaise with team leader and other departments on scheduling of workloads.
  • Assist with training and job or product awareness for other staff within the Group.
  • Maintain the Group management behaviours practices and equal opportunity policy.
  • Comply with any environmental responsibilities as identified by the Group and communicated by your line manager that are relevant within your department.
Skills and Experience
  • Machining competency
  • Basic knowledge of Fanuc programming
  • Basic knowledge of Conversational programming
  • Decipher drawings
  • Numeracy and accuracy
  • Computer literacy
  • Previous Apprenticeship preferred although not essential
  • Experience in similar role
  • Machinist: 1 year (preferred)
