Job Description

LEAD JAVA DEVELOPER - £50k + Benefits Nationwide Recruitment Service (NRS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented senior JAVA DEVELOPER for our clients busy Head office based near Birmingham Airport/ Birmingham Business ParkThe role will pay up to £50k plus benefits and is to manage an enthusiastic and inspirational team. This role will require you to have strong people skills to motivate a team as well as substantial experience of Java J2EE, SQL, Hibernate, Spring, Java ScriptIn your previous role and detailed clearly on your CV you will have been responsible for the development lifecycle of applications, from concept and design right through to testing. I.e.

  • Design, implement and maintain java application phases
  • Software and architectural development activities
  • Software analysis, programming, testing and debugging - Identifying production and non-production application issues -
  • Transforming requirements into stipulations
  • Develop, test, implement and maintain application software
  • Recommend changes to improve established java application processes
  • Develop technical designs for application development - Develop application code for java programs
    • You will be an inspiration to others, be enthusiastic about Java development with and a track record in guiding a team in the right direction; with business acumen to multi task and prioritise what needs to be done for overall business interest/ advancementKey areas we are looking for
  • Agile methodologies: Scrum/Kanban
  • Test Driven Development (TDD) and Mocking frameworks e.g. Mockito
  • Technology stack: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, Hibernate/Spring Data/JDBC
  • Relational Database design and understanding (SQL Server)
  • Developing RESTful Web Services, Micro Services, APIs
  • Web Frameworks: Angular, Javascript
  • WEB Servers for deployments: Tomcat
  • Source control tooling: Git, Bitbucket, GitLab
  • Build tools: Maven
  • Performance/Stress Testing Tooling: JMeter
  • Continuous Delivery (CD): Jenkins, Circle CI, Microsoft Azure

  • GraphQL (API query language)
