Job Description

What its like to work here Belton House is a large historic estate on the outskirts of Grantham, Lincolnshire. Last year we welcomed over 370,000 visitors and have ambitions to grow those numbers through the development of our offer and infrastructure.With a seventeenth century mansion house, formal gardens, pleasure grounds, ancient deer park, and the National Trusts largest outdoor adventure playground, Belton holds wide appeal and attracts a diverse audience with varied interests. Over half of ourvisitors are family groups with young children, so theyre a key focus for our visitor programming. Were committed to breaking down barriers to access, welcoming new visitors and creating inclusive and memorable experiences for everyone.Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing As part of the Visitor Operations and Experience Team youll work closely with colleagues across the property to shape the quality and content of our visitor offer for children and young people.Reporting to the Senior Programming and Partnerships Officer, your focus will be on creating playful and meaningful experiences which connect visitors to our cause and our stories. Youll be part of a small and dedicated team which is committed to raisingthe visitor offer to the best it can be. Youll co-create with, and be supported by, community partners, our visitors, and National Trust colleagues to ensure that our offer is informed, inclusive, and sustainable.Youll be responsible for the operational delivery of our Children and Young People Programme as well as long-term planning. Youll support the wider team on project work as it pertains to our family audience and the delivery of the property business plan.Please also read the full role profile attached to this advert. Who were looking for This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and independent thinker who also understands the importance of teamwork and looking outwards. Belton is a busy property so to deliver this role successfully, youll need to have:

  • A flexible, visitor-first approach, with high standards of customer service and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to bring a team along with you.
  • Experience of planning, working to multiple deadlines and managing own workload
  • Supports the aims and ethos of the National Trust
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A hard-working approach, be committed and a team player
  • Strong IT skills - Microsoft Office, as well as web and social media applications
  • Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety procedures
