Regular weekend working is required, as well as bank holidays and school holidays. Shifts will be worked between 8am and 5pm.During December youll be required to work some evening shifts for the Christmas Lights event, finishing around 9pm.Salary:£11.88 per hour (£23,166 per year pro rata)Duration:Permanent contract.Interview date: Week starting 15th April 2024. What its like to work here Reporting to the Head Chef, youll be based at Belton House (Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG32 2LS). Belton welcomes visitors to explore the ancient deer park, picnic in the pleasure grounds, or burn off energy in the National Trusts largest outdoor adventureplayground. As well as the house, gardens and parkland, Belton also has a gift shop, bookshop, the Stables Café, a playground kiosk and seasonal ice-cream parlour. What youll be doing As a Cook, your focus will be in the kitchen, helping to prepare and present delicious food from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Your food will be served directly to visitors.Using the framework of our ‘National Trust Cookbook’,you’ll prepare, measure and mix ingredients. You’ll help with deliveries and with keeping the kitchen clean, to be compliant with health and safety legislation and to make sure that service runs smoothly.We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, andtraining in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role.
