Job Description

Multi-Medix is seeking an enthusiastic electronic engineer to join our team to service and repair diagnostic ultrasound systems and parts. We are proud of our can-do culture and the position will particularly suit engineers who can operate on their own initiative in a fast paced and varied environment and of course, also have a can-do attitude.The ability to safely disassemble and reassemble complex devices, fault find to component level and correctly interpret technical literature are essential, however no existing ultrasound knowledge is required - training will be provided to the right person. Most work is undertaken in our facility in Leicestershire, a degree of client site-based work is required.Main Duties

  • Inspection, testing, fault diagnosis, and repair of diagnostic imaging ultrasound systems, PCB’s, parts, modules and components, including software, and other related equipment, as specified.
  • Technical support, via telephone and email.
  • Field-based support activities, occasional.
  • Support Return to Parts (RTP) activity
  • Adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensuring the adherence to H&S procedures.
  • Cleaning of equipment.
  • Adherence to ESD, handling and packaging standards.
  • Reclamation and recycling of material in line with the company’s environmental objectives and policy.
  • Entering data for equipment and processed components into the company’s workflow and inventory systems.
  • Cleaning and tidying the technical area to ensure a safe operating environment.
  • Working with all other colleagues to achieve business objectives.
  • Driving as requested.
  • Any other duties as requested by Management to assist in the smooth running of operations.
  • Essential Requirments/Qualifications
  • Relevant electromechanical qualification (HNC or higher) or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience in a hands-on’ electronic test and repair technical capacity.
  • Experience in use of IT systems.
  • Desirable Requirements/Qualifications
  • Experience with diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Experience with medical devices.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • Good hand and tool skills, to be able to safely dismantle and reassemble complex items without damaging components.
  • Soldering skills.
  • Electronic fault diagnosis.
  • Good technical awareness, to be able to safely inspect, test and repair complex electromechanical equipment, documenting all results.
  • Attention to detail.
  • After suitable training, able to correctly follow quality management system work instructions and safety instructions with minimum supervision.
  • To be able to use IT as a work tool, including being able to read and navigate electronic technical publications.
  • Be comfortable with using MS Office products.
  • Management of assigned workload with minimum supervision.
  • Manage multiple tasks and correctly communicate updates to management.
  • Show a good level of awareness of other’s roles and responsibilities and where your role fits into the organisation.
  • Able to respond appropriately to verbal and written instruction in a technical and office environment.
  • An ability to represent a positive image of our business to our customers and suppliers.
