What its like to work here As a member of the National Trusts internal consultancy youll work with specialists in every field of our work. A national consultancy, where resources are shared across departments and boundaries, a great repository of skills, talent and experience. What youll be doing Youll provide a consultancy service in archaeology which will include responding to requests for information, advice and hands-on support to meet the requests and requirements of your property clients. Youll contribute to strategic plans, identifying archaeologicalopportunities, needs and resources required to achieve property goals. Youll be using your skills to enable the Trust to protect and improve the historic environment whilst making the changes we need to, at pace, to respond to the challenges of our generation.Youll commission and oversee specialist contractors undertaking archaeological work on behalf of the National Trust. Youll provide advice to ensure projects are completed to a professional standard and any impacts on the historic environment are avoided,minimised or mitigated.Youll champion the work of the National Trust in archaeology externally, building partnerships, identifying funding opportunities and inspiring people to raise the organisations profile. Youll mentor and train professional teams including property staffand volunteers to improve skills and build capability and understanding in the care of the historic environment. Who were looking for A Leader for Conservation Excellence, Inclusivity, and the response to the Nature and Climate Crisis, taking a proactive approach in using the historic environment as a means to drive and deliver positive landscape change for nature and the climate.In this role, we are looking for..· An ability to think flexibly, beyond your profession to build and curate networks to facilitate working and improving potential.· Knowledge of archaeological care and management, interpretation and presentation of landscapes, historic places and buildings, including an up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.· Experience of assessing archaeological impacts and opportunities of land use change.· Be able to prioritise your time and lead in your specialism, with a driven focus on delivery and making things happen for the region.· Be able to actively share your passion, knowledge and expertise to upskill and empower others.· Be able to demonstrate how your intervention has positively impacted on Project Delivery and clients.· An understanding of database management, especially HER.
