Job Description

We are recruiting a Test & Validation Team Lead to join our Team based in West Yorkshire.What will you be doing in this roleAs a Test & validation Team Lead at Tunstall, youll be responsible for developing and carrying out test plans on Tunstall hardware and software to validate against product requirements. You will also take responsibility for leadership and mentoring of asmall team of test engineers.The Ideal candidate:You will have an in depth understanding of test and validation who is keen to solve problems and have a focus on supporting your team to ensure their success.Key skills and experience:Essential skills and experience:

  • Experience in a Test Lead or Test Manager role with hands-on testing experience of electronic systems
  • Proven experience of developing automated test & validation solutions for electronic systems
  • Experience developing software for product validation of hardware products - C/C++, Python, Labview
  • Good understanding of hardware design and measuring instruments
  • Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings to locate connectors, switches and test points
Desirable skills:
  • Experience of testing communication systems, including
  • Experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Labview
  • Automating test results into dashboard views
  • Experience of pneumatic actuators for automated testing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Be responsible for creating and managing Test Plans, including both functional and non-functional testing
  • Be responsible for the management of defects raised during this process
  • Be responsible for leading the test team, including recruitment, development and performance management
  • Develop and carry out tests on the range of Tunstall products
  • Support the Project Manager with communication
  • Lead the Project Team in estimating the effort and time required to perform the testing laid out in the Test Plan
  • Provide thought leadership in the efficient and effective approach to testing
  • Work closely with the Development Leads in the Delivery Teams to align working processes and to feed into future test strategies
  • Proactively support the Project Manager in identifying and tracking the delivery of Project dependencies from other internal teams e.g. Delivery Teams or IT
  • Delivers to and within defined processes, practices and frameworks including Tunstalls Quality System procedures, and participates in continuous improvement activity, to drive process improvement, elimination of waste, time savings and cost reductions
  • Adhere to Tunstall values and promote team collaboration, in line with existing processes
