Job Description

Café ManagerThurmaston32 hours per week, Sunday to Wednesday

The Company:ER Recruitment are working closely with Charnwood Nursery & Pre-School Group to recruit for them an experienced Café Manager.The successful candidate will ensure the smooth day to day running of the café and children’s play area.Role & Responsibilities of the Café Manager:
  • Ensure that there are sufficient supplies to maintain the daily menu
  • Prepare and cook menu items and daily specials
  • Provide the full menu throughout the café’s opening times
  • Follow the safer foods guidelines and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure kitchen and equipment is cleaned to a high standard and that the cleaning rota is followed
  • Assist in the planning and preparation of foods for special events, e.g. children’s birthday parties, meetings, conference and other events
  • Supervise other café workers
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance of all staff is clean and professional at all times
  • Stock rotation
  • Updating and management of P.O.S
  • Upsell items where possible
  • Clear tables and clean in a timely manner
  • Play areas to be tidied and reset at regular intervals throughout the day
  • Ensure that toilets are checked and restocked throughout the day
  • Understand and meet sales targets
  • Provide a friendly and efficient service to all of our customers at all times by serving customers promptly & provide a high level of customer service
  • Keep customers updated if there are delays in preparing their food due to high demand
About You as the Café Manager:
  • Previous experience cooking simple, enjoyable foods
  • Background in people management
  • Outstanding customer service
  • Dietary and allergen awareness
  • Health and Safety and COSHH awareness
  • Knowledge of an EPOS system and banking
  • Excellent work ethic and a positive can-do attitude
