Job Description

Empowering Learning are currently recruiting for a General Teaching Assistant to work within Primary Schools in Alfreton (DE55). We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable General Teaching assistant, that will be able to support pupils daily in the classroom. You will play a key role in supporting the pupils with communication, learning, and independence,in a safe and inclusive environment to help their development.The role will be Monday to Friday and the hours of work will be 08:30-16:00. The contract will begin in September 2023 or as soon as possible if you were availableThe school are looking somebody to appoint who:

Has previous experience supporting pupils
Has at least one years school-based experience
Holds a TA qualification or a relevant degree
Can build good relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
Has good communication skills to liaise with staff and pupils
Can lead inspiring interventions to help engage pupils

The main duties within this role will be:

Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
Strong communication skills
Valid child and adult enhanced DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
