Job Description

Would you consider yourself an expert in supporting pupils with special educational needs Do you have the availability to start working immediatelyEmpowering Learning are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated behaviour mentor to join our team at a school located in Alfreton.Role: Behaviour MentorLocation: Alfreton, Derbyshire (DE55)Start Date: Jan 2024If you have experience in supporting pupil with challenging behaviour and a strong desire to make a positive impact, this is the perfect role for you.The role will be Monday to Friday and the hours of work will be 08:30-16:00. The contract will begin in January 2024.The school are looking somebody to appoint who:

  • Has previous experience of supporting SEN pupils
  • Has at least one years school-based experience
  • Holds a TA qualification or a relevant degree
  • Can build good relationships with children who struggle to engage in class
  • Has good communication skills to liaise with staff and pupils
  • Can lead inspiring interventions to help engage pupils
  • The main duties within this role will be:
  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels
  • Supporting pupils in and out of class who present with special educational needs
  • Liaising with the school SENCO and the class teacher around the progress of pupils
  • Providing pastoral support to children with social and emotional needs
  • Working across KS1 and KS2 with children struggling to manage their behaviour
