As part of their on-going growth and development, our client are looking to appoint an experienced and driven Production Planner to take control of, and develop the businesses planning activities. The role will also involve supporting the purchasing team. This is a varied role, allowing someone to take ownership of the production plans as well as support the Buyer with their day to day requirements.As Production Planner & Purchasing Assistant, you will be responsible for:* Producing production plans optimised around available resource* Liaising with customers to keep them updated on schedules* Developing reports to track site performance* Updating the MRP system* Identifying and supporting projects in progressing the planning processes within the company* Managing any plan changes in a timely manner and updating appropriate departments or customers, with potential impacts as appropriate* Placing orders for materials and PPE with suppliers* Chasing suppliers for delivery lead times* Raising POs and dealing with invoice queries* Working closely with internal departments to maintain visibility across functionsThis position is well suited to someone who:* Has at least 2 or 3 years in a planning role within a manufacturing environment.* Communicates well both internally and externally.* Has strong Excel skills* SAP experienced is preferred but not essential* A team player with a can-do attitude and a robust natureThe company in return can offer:* £28,000+ Salary DOE* Healthcare Benefits* Store Discounts * Enhanced Pension* On-Site Parking* Progression and personal development opportunitiesConsortium Professional Recruitment Ltd are a professional level recruitment consultancy specialising in the delivery of high relevance recruitment services on behalf of our clients across the UK.
